Reward of Truthfulness

In his boyhood Hazrat Abdul Quader Zilani (R) was going to Baghdad for education. One the eve of his departure from home, his mother said to him, “My son, never tell a lie and don’t get frightened in danger.”
Baghdad was far away from his home. He began his journey in the company of a band of merchants. The way was infested with robbers.

After five days a gang of robbers fell upon the travelers. One of the robbers caught hold of the boy and brought him before their captain the captain said. “He is a mere boy; He seems to have nothing worth the name with him. Let him go.” But the boy Abdul Quader (R) boldly told the truth. He said, “I have with me no fewer than fifty gold coins sewed up inside my coat.” The captain unsewed the coat and found out gold coins. He amazed.

The truthfulness of the boy could not but impress the captain of gang and he, along with his associates, embraced Islam on the spot and took an oath to give up the foul practice of robbery.
